Turnaround is measured in days

Episodic sides go out and come back inside a week, sometimes inside forty-eight hours. Have a taping setup you can be ready with in an hour rather than one you have to build each time.

Local hire is a real qualification

Series shooting in a regional hub will cast smaller roles from that market to avoid travel and housing. If you can genuinely put yourself on set as a local, say so plainly in your submission — it is often the difference between two comparable tapes.

Know which tier you are reading for

Co-star, guest star, recurring and series regular carry different rates, different contract terms and different expectations in the room. Read the tier on the breakdown before you decide how much preparation the tape deserves.

Match the show's tone

Television is consistent by design. A procedural, a half-hour comedy and a prestige drama want different sizes of performance. If the show is already airing, watch twenty minutes of it before you tape.

How do I get an audition for a TV show?

For co-star and guest roles on regionally shot series, direct submission to the casting office is normal and every notice here accepts it. For series regular roles, casting almost always works through agents. Building a co-star credit or two in your local market is the usual path to the latter.

What is the difference between a co-star and a guest star?

A co-star typically has a handful of lines in one or two scenes and is booked off tape without a callback. A guest star carries a storyline through the episode, usually involves a callback or producer session, and pays substantially more.

This page covers scripted television — series, streaming and web series. When unscripted productions post with us, they appear on the main board; we would rather point you at the scripted roles that are actually live than build a page around listings we do not have.

Do you vet the productions behind these listings?

No. We aggregate public casting listings and we do not vet the people behind them. Read the notice, check the production yourself, and never pay to audition — any listing that asks you for money is either a scam or a business we would not send you to.
