How our casting calls work

We aggregate. We do not vet.

The casting calls on GotAuditions are gathered from publicly available sources — film office boards, public audition listings, theatre boards, and local casting columns. We reword them, and where we captured a source, we link to the original.

These listings were not submitted to us by the productions behind them. Nobody at GotAuditions has spoken to them, checked them, or approved them.

What we cannot tell you

We cannot tell you whether a production is safe.

We cannot tell you whether it is real.

We cannot tell you whether it will be made.

We cannot tell you whether you will be paid.

We check that a listing is complete and has a contact. That is all we check.

Use your judgement. If something feels wrong, it probably is.

What we refuse to list

We reject listings that:

  • charge you a fee to apply, audition, register, or attend a required workshop
  • ask for your bank details, card number, or Social Security number
  • ask you to pay for anything before a contract exists
  • come from sources that prohibit republication

You never pay to be considered for a role. Not a registration fee, not a processing fee, not a mandatory headshot session, not a wardrobe deposit. Ever.

Any listing that asks you to pay is either a scam or a business we don't want to send you to. If you find one here, report it and we will remove it.

Nudity and intimate content

If a role involves nudity, partial nudity, simulated sex, or intimate contact, that should be stated in the listing before you submit.

We can require disclosure. We cannot detect concealment. If a listing didn't tell you and the production later does, that's a red flag — leave, and tell us.

Roles for performers under 18

Some listings seek performers under 18.

GotAuditions accounts are for adults only. You must be 18 or over to register, build a profile, or upload anything.

A parent or legal guardian must make all contact and handle all correspondence for a minor. The production is responsible for work permits, hour limits, and on-set requirements — not GotAuditions.

Your safety

  • Never pay to audition.
  • Meet in public or professional spaces for a first meeting.
  • Tell someone where you're going.
  • You may bring someone with you to any audition.
  • You may decline to be filmed.
  • You may leave at any time, for any reason.
  • Report anything that feels wrong.

Compensation

Where the source stated it, we show it. Where it didn't, the listing says "Pay not stated."

"Pay not stated" is not the same as unpaid. It means we don't know. Ask before you commit your time.

Reporting a listing

Every listing has a Report control. One click, no account needed.

Reports go to sal@howtoselftape.com.

To the sources we aggregate from

If you're a production, a film office, or a site whose posting appears here and you want it removed, email sal@howtoselftape.com.

We will remove it. No argument, no delay, no justification required.

What "Verified" means, if you see it

It means we mechanically confirmed the listing has a contact and did not come from a blocked source.

It does not mean the project is safe, real, funded, or that you will be paid. It is not an endorsement.
